6 ideas for inspiring video content.

Where do you find inspiration and direction for creating B2B marketing content? A few ideas, in no particular order...

Your Target Audience

No-duh, right? But specifically, what do you know about your target audience? What does it say in your ICP/ Personas? Try to leverage any information you have to create meaningful content that engages your audience. Good content provides value. Start with identifying the pain point you solve for your customer. Once you’ve got that down, you can begin to ideate what type of video content will be best to deliver that message!

SEO

Have a strategy in place? Does your SEO strategy consider the pain points you solve for your customer? Review your keywords for inspiration to create relevant and engaging video ads, product videos, how-to’s, and other videos to be distributed in the channels you find your target audience. You'd be surprised how many brands don't do this!

Cross-Departmental

Talk to other teams in your organization. That's right, I'm suggesting you go and talk to other departments! Find out what conversations your tech support team has on a regular basis, or get feedback from your CX team. Talk to Sales about some of the common questions or concerns that come up during conversations with leads, or listen to recorded calls and demos. Bottom line is that there is a ton of subject matter, across your organization, waiting to be turned into useful video content.

Social Listening

What are people saying about your brand? What do they say about your competition? Whether it's existing customers, customers of your competitors, or those that haven't decided yet, chances are they are saying something that could inspire your content direction. So, lean in and take a listen.

Partners

Depending on your org, you may find inspiration from your distributors, dealers, suppliers, and ambassadors. Inspiration from your partners may result in customer-facing content as well as tools to support your internal teams, such as sales, support, or customer experience.

Existing Content

If you've done your research, crafted it well, and took the time to develop a solid piece of pillar content, keep using it! Take smaller bits of it to inspire additional pieces like social posts, infographics, videos and more! A blog can turn into a short video. Short clips from great webinars can be posted in social to encourage more views. Whether you’re a small team, large org, or somewhere in between, efficiency in content creation is a key part of your content marketing approach.

These are just a few of the great places to find inspiration for useful, engaging video content. Happy content marketing!
